Upload to App Store Connect and Google Play

Which zip folder goes into which store slot, language by language, for App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

Pay and publish · 2 of 2

Your zip has one folder per store, then one per device size, then one per language. Each language folder goes into the matching language of your store listing. The README.md in the zip has the same table as below.

Zip folder Store slot
App Store/iPhone 6.9in (1320x2868) App Store Connect: iPhone 6.9" display (Apple scales it down for smaller iPhones)
App Store/iPhone 6.5in (1284x2778) App Store Connect: iPhone 6.5" display (optional)
App Store/iPhone Duo outer (1398x2034) App Store Connect: iPhone Duo outer display (only if your app supports it)
App Store/iPhone Duo inner (2007x2853) App Store Connect: iPhone Duo inner display (only if your app supports it)
Google Play/Phone (1080x1920) Play Console: Phone screenshots (2 to 8)

All files are flat PNGs with no transparency, which both stores accept.

App Store Connect

(no screenshot: App Store Connect can't be captured here; field names are from Apple's App Store Connect Help)

  1. Open the version. In App Store Connect, go to Apps, select your app, and in the sidebar click the iOS app version you're preparing.
  2. Pick the language. At the top right, choose the language from the pop-up menu. Add it first if it's under Not Localized (hold the pointer over it and click +).
  3. Open the screenshots. Under Product Page Information, click the App Previews and Screenshots tab, then select the iPhone tab.
  4. Drag in the 6.9" files. Drag 01.png to 05.png (or however many you have) from App Store/iPhone 6.9in (1320x2868)/<language>/ into the well, or click Upload. You can add up to 10. Drag to rearrange if needed.
  5. Other sizes, if you want them. Click View All Sizes in Media Manager to add the 6.5" or iPhone Duo files for that language. Otherwise Apple scales the 6.9" ones down.
  6. Save and repeat. Click Save, then pick the next language from the pop-up menu.

Tip: If you skip a language's screenshots, App Store Connect shows your primary language's screenshots there instead.

Google Play Console

(no screenshot: Play Console can't be captured here; field names are from Google's Play Console Help)

  1. Open your listing. In Play Console, select your app and go to Grow users > Store presence > Store listings, then open your main store listing.
  2. Upload the default language. Under Graphics, find Phone screenshots and upload the files for your default language. Google Play needs at least 2 and allows up to 8.
  3. Add translations. Use Manage translations (or Add translations the first time) to add the languages you're publishing.
  4. Upload each language. Pick a language and upload that language's files from Google Play/Phone (1080x1920)/<language>/ into Phone screenshots. Click Save.

Tip: If a language has text but no screenshots of its own, Google Play shows your default language's screenshots.

Before you submit

  • Screenshots and text match. Upload the listing text for the same languages (Translated store listing and keywords).
  • Strongest first. The first 3 screenshots are what most people see.
  • Review is still needed. App Store changes go live with your next version or after review; Google Play listing changes may also be reviewed.
