App Store screenshot sizes (2026)
The sizes you need to upload to App Store Connect, from Apple's screenshot specifications. Updated 18 October 2026.
The short answer
- iPhone: at least one screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display) is required. If you only make one large set, 1320 × 2868 (6.9″) is the safe choice.
- iPad: if your app runs on iPad, at least one 13″ iPad screenshot (2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732).
- iPhone Duo: 1398 × 2034 (outer) and 2007 × 2853 (inner). Required from April 2027 for apps using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.
- You can upload 1 to 10 screenshots per device size, as .png, .jpg or .jpeg. Images can't have an alpha channel or transparency.
If your app looks the same on every size and in every language, Apple says you only need the highest required resolution. App Store Connect scales it down for smaller devices.

When a size is missing, App Store Connect uses scaled screenshots from the next size up in its chain (for example, 6.5″ falls back to 6.9″).

Other Apple platforms
- Mac: 16:10, one of 1280 × 800, 1440 × 900, 2560 × 1600 or 2880 × 1800.
- Apple TV: 1920 × 1080 or 3840 × 2160.
- Apple Vision Pro: 3840 × 2160.
- Apple Watch: from 422 × 514 (Ultra 4, Ultra 3) down to 312 × 390 (Series 3 and earlier). Use the same Watch size in every localization.
Google Play, for comparison
Google Play doesn't use fixed device sizes. Screenshots must be JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha, between 320 and 3840 px, and the long side can't be more than twice the short side. Up to 8 per device type. For recommendation slots, Google asks for at least 4 screenshots at 1080 × 1920 (portrait) or 1920 × 1080 (landscape) or larger. Common upload errors
- "Images can't contain alpha channels or transparencies." Export as a flattened PNG or JPEG.
- Wrong dimensions. The pixels have to match one of the sizes above exactly. Resizing a 6.9″ screenshot to iPhone Duo stretches it, because the aspect ratios are different; crop or pad instead.

What is the main App Store screenshot size in 2026? For iPhone, 1320 × 2868 (6.9″) covers the large Dynamic Island class. Apple requires at least one screenshot for the medium Dynamic Island size; the larger set can be scaled down.
How many screenshots can I upload? 1 to 10 per device size, per localization.
Can App Store screenshots be transparent? No. Apple rejects images with an alpha channel.
